Baby Newsletter Week 23

Below is a copy of one of the weekly newsletters my friend, Heather, sent to our friends at work during my pregnancy as the BPA (Baby Personal Assistant):

Hi-ya Baby Followers:

I can only guess that my Baby Personal Assistant is undoubtedly scouring the gorgeous coasts of South Carolina to find the perfect location for my surprise destination baby shower. Or she's just on vacation. Nevertheless, she made me promise to send out the Baby Newsletter while she's away. So while I know I can't do it anywhere near as good as she has been doing, here goes:

Baby Mango:
-With his sense of movement well developed by now, baby can feel mom dance. Mama Mel is not known for her dance moves, but maybe can incorporate some chair dancing while singing in the car.
-Now that he's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound, you may be able to see him squirm underneath your clothes. Daddy Mel has yet to be able to feel the little guy, but here's hoping he'll kick more in the evenings.
-Sounds that the baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing him for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now—such as the dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner—probably won't faze him when he hears them outside the womb. My guess is that Daddy Mel will be doubling his efforts to ensure baby knows all the words to the University of Michigan fight song by the time he's born.

Mama Mango:
-Ankles and feet should start to swell in the coming weeks or months, especially at the end of the day. So don't be surprised when I call you from my desk for a work question instead of my usual style of stopping by. Oh and I think this means extra foot rubs are in order at home… :)

Thanks!
